• London Free List. London Free List is an excellent new site which lists all the events and attractions in London that you don't need much money to go to. They are all either free or cost no more than £3 maximum. Over 1500 entries are listed and the site is updated daily.

• Thomas Cook/ Days Out UK - Free Discount Vouchers for attractions. This comprehensive site allows you to search for information relating to thousands of attractions and events, plus you have access to over 500 discount vouchers! There's something for everyone, kids go free, adults go free, or money off entrance fees to museums, theme parks, zoos, historic houses, castles and gardens all over the UK. To use the vouchers, just print them out and take them with you when you visit.

• Ciao. This is a UK consumer site, where you can read people's opinions on London - everything from the best restaurants; bars; pubs and places to stay; to the best attractions and sights; museums and galleries; theatres & operas; cinemas; musicals; internet cafes; festivals & events; nightlife; parks and gardens; shops; markets; advice on getting around London by bus or tube and more! A brilliant idea and very useful for anybody intending to visit London or living in London. You can even become a member (it's free) and add your own opinions! The site also features comments, reviews and opinions on thousands of other products and services - from the latest books, films and music to the latest gadgets and electronics products; as well as travel destinations and much more. Highly recommended.

• Time Out London Guide. Excellent, highly recommended online City Guide from the listings magazine and guidebook publishers.

• Time Out London Student Guide. Again - superb, especially for those on a small budget! Cheap eats and shops.

  London Concerts and London Theatre:

  Travel Tip: Try the Half Price Ticket Booth in Leicester Square (run by the Society of London Theatres), where tickets for many West End shows are available on the day of the performance at half price (cash only) plus a small service charge. Tickets are limited to 4 per person and the booth is open from Monday to Saturday from noon for afternoon shows and from 2:30 for evening shows. Early arrival is recommended. Those with student cards can also sometimes get standby tickets direct from theatres before a performance. You are strongly advised not to buy tickets from touts - either outside the booth or outside theatres.

  Travel Tip: Travelcards are valid on London tubes, buses and trains and are available from underground stations. A weekend travelcard is 25% cheaper than two one day travelcards and is also valid on the Night buses on Saturday night - great news for clubbers! Weekly travelcards are also good value if you are staying for a week.

• UK Online. Includes information on everything transport related in the UK - planes, trains, taxis and buses.

• National Express. Coach travel to and from London and around the UK with discounted online booking.
  

• Rail Europe. Provides the famous Eurailpass and Europass, for travel in continental Europe, as well as BritRail passes (for UK rail travel) and tickets for Eurostar, which offers rail journeys between London, Paris and Brussels through the Channel Tunnel.
